Proofs ordered; the final review

Publishing a novel is surprisingly difficult. There's a lot of details to keep track of, and it's given me new respect for the term "sanity check". Since it's almost impossible to look at every page at once, it can drive you—well, insane. After reviewing the digital proofs from the printers, I had to tweak a few things and re-submit them. The files have to be reviewed printer-side each time there's a new request.

All in all, that meant that ordering the final copies for backers got pushed out about a week. But don't worry—I have good news.

I ordered the final proof copies from the printers on rush service today. They come in at the end of this week.

This is the "final review," where I actually receive a printed copy from each printer in the mail. If there's no error from the printers, then I'll approve them, and the novel will officially be available for order.

Thank you, backers and others, for your patience as I moved along this process. I've moved with haste to make sure I meet our promised dates, but I've also taken the time to ensure that every detail is perfect, and that you ultimately receive a high-quality book. This means backers can now expect the book to arrive at their door sometime in March. I'm expediting the shipping process where possible.

At this point, I'm pivoting the e-publishing while the print copies come in. But the hardest parts of this long, detailed process, are now over, and I get to wait for the printed proofs to arrive in the mail.
