New Website & the SPSFC

It has been three years (really!) since I updated the blog here, which is pretty awful of me. So I won't delay: let's get to the latest happenings.

I have a new website for my novel(s) and a number of short fictions published online. You can find them at: d-a-anderson.com. In fact, you can purchase the e-book format of the novel directly through the website using PayPal or Stripe, and get the print formats through a direct distribution service called Aerio. This is the same book you'd get through Amazon, but shipped directly from the printers to your doorstep. It also more directly supports me as an author, so feel free to give it a go!

Another worthwhile happening: Children of Vale is in the SPSFC (Self-Published Science Fiction Competition). 300 books are selected and judged by teams of reviewers, yielding semi-finalists, finalists, and one winner (or a tie). It is organized by the accomplished authors Hugh Howey and Duncan Swan, and is a year-long event. I'm happy to say the novel has already been reviewed publicly by one judge, Andrew Hindle, who gave it four stars, and you can read his review of Children of Vale on his website.

Lastly, I am still working on the next book, and it may still be some time before it sees the light of day—but there is a draft in progress! In the meantime, I'm publishing many other short stories and "flash" fictions, many of which you can read idly in a few minutes, on the new author website. I have some new social media presences as well. I've become very active on Twitter (@ValeOfInk) and Instagram (d.a.anderson.writes), which is a change from the prior two years, and I share writing progress updates, new short works, and inspiration, there. Occasionally, a longer piece or two will make it to my Medium.

Again, my apologies for not updating this blog in quite some time. I may transfer this website over to the new author website, or give this one overhaul, but I can say that there is a lot of new exciting work behind the scenes.
